Island Transformations

As I discovered on the island of Lanzarote, it's not all about the surf and sun. In a studio tucked away on the streets of Arrecife, the capital of the island, stands a studio filled with flair, creativity and a lot of paint!

My incredibly talented friend, Naomi (I'm being modest because I know that I'll embarrass her otherwise) finally began the journey of opening her own studio of decorative painting.  Named Nyamuk, she specialises in giving your treasured pieces of furniture a new and revitalised lease on life by transforming them in a way a caterpillar morphs into a beautiful butterfly.

I fell in love with Naomi's studio as soon as I stepped inside. The two glass paned front doors open out to a spacious studio. You'll immediately notice her feature wall that she has made herself with an eclectic mix of different wallpapers. You'll also notice the array of furniture pieces that are in their different stages of transformation.

If you happen to find yourself on the volcanic island of Lanzarote, be sure to stop in on Naomi who will no doubt be in the midst of creating something new and wonderful. Her doors are open to everyone, even if it's just for a little chat.
